The Langer's Ball

The Langer’s Ball has been performing throughout the Mid-western United States since July, 2007. Featuring Michael Sturm on Guitar, Mandolin & Vocals, Hannah Rediske on Piano Accordion & Penny Whistle, Drew Miller on Bass, Trevor Jurgens Lead Guitar, & Backing Vocals, and Derek Jaimes on Drums & Backing Vocals. The Langer’s Ball plays fast, fun aggressive Irish Punk Rock music. As a Duo, Michael & Hannah have been playing since 2007 and have played over 500 shows at various locations; including, The Irish Fair of MN, The Iowa Irish Fest, Shamrock Fest in KCMO and have opened for Toronto based “Enter The Haggis”.

Their first release "As I Roved Out" (2008) was awarded a Special Mention for "Best Celtic Rock & Punk CD's of '08 from PaddyRock.com and they were hailed as "...A Band To Watch". This was followed but "Ships Are Sailing" (2009) which took the band to a new level in the studio, featuring full band arrangements and some original songs; "Ships Are Sailing" got a #11 spot that year from PaddyRock.com and earned a Special Mention from Shite'n'Onions as a best of for '09. In 2010 The Langer's Ball attempted to bring their studio sound to the stage by filling out the band into a 5-piece full band with Bass, Drums, banjo & backing vocals. This short-lived venture did produce 1 very memorable evening, the band recorded a live show on St. Patrick's Day in their hometown of St. Paul, MN. These recordings were the making of their 2011 release "Drunk, Sick, Tired". Along with 2 music videos that are on their enhanced CD, "Drunk, Sick, Tired" is 11 songs of high energy Irish Punk Rock. "Drunk, Sick, Tired" also received a spot on both PaddyRock.com & Shite'n'Onions best of '11 lists and was warmly greeted by critics and fans alike.

The warm reception for the live release, along with Michael & Hannah's need to rock inspired them to pick up the mantle of Irish punk rock once more, and in late 2011, they met the right musicians for the job. Bringing in Derek Jaimes, a former drummer of fellow Celtic rockers, The Wild Colonial Bhoys, Drew Miller, Bassist & leader of the legendary Rock'n'Reel band Boiled in Lead, and Punk Rock & Rockabilly Guitarist, Trevor Jurgens who has played with countless bands including A-Bomb Nation, The Spent .50's, Hot Rod Hearse and Code 13. Together these 5 re-worked the material the duo had been playing for years, bringing new energy and talent to the mix, as well as revisiting the songwriting and bringing new originals to the stage. Their debut in 2012 was met with great enthusiasm, and you can expect a Studio CD from the in 2012.
